Ivo Haag

Ivo Haag is a Lecturer at the Institute of Classical and Church Music, part of the Lucerne School of Music (HSLU). He is a prominent figure in classical music, particularly known for his work in piano duo performances and chamber music. His international concert activities include engagements with leading festivals such as the Carinthian Summer, Haydn Festival Eisenstadt, and Lucerne Festival. He collaborates with the Adrienne Soós and Ivo Haag Piano Duo, one of Switzerland’s leading chamber music ensembles.

Education includes studies at the Zurich University of the Arts under Irwin Gage (Masterclass for Lied Interpretation), further studies with Edith Fischer, and at the Franz Liszt Academy Budapest under Péter Solymos and Ferenc Rados. He has participated in masterclasses with András Schiff, György Kurtág, and others.

Notable achievements include the 2008 Werkjahr des Kantons Zug award. His recordings span labels like Telos (Bartók’s Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion), Naxos (Debussy’s early works for four hands), and others. Regular radio broadcasts include international features.

As a lecturer, Haag focuses on classical piano as a subsidiary subject and chamber music performance. He co-founded the piano duo Adrienne Soós and Ivo Haag, which pioneered complete performances of Schubert’s four-hand works at Künstlerhaus Boswil.
