معرفی
Iveta Slavkova is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art History and Fine Arts at The American University of Paris (AUP). She holds a PhD in Modern and Contemporary Art History from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and specializes in avant-garde movements, humanism crises, and post-WWII abhumanism. Her scholarly work includes the monograph Réparer l'homme (2020) exploring Futurism and Bauhaus responses to World War I, and ongoing research on abhumanism in post-1945 Parisian art.
Her research interests critically examine:
- The collapse and redefinition of humanism in 20th-century art
- Surrealist engagements with ecology and posthumanism
- Peripheral avant-garde narratives in postwar Europe
- Interdisciplinary analyses of art, war trauma, and identity
Slavkova's publications consistently address avant-garde responses to historical crises, particularly analyzing artists like Wols, Camille Bryen, and Jacques Audiberti. Recent works demonstrate a focus on decolonizing art history and ecological perspectives in surrealism.
She actively organizes international conferences, including co-chairing the 2024 ISSS conference on Surrealism and serving on the editorial board of Arts journal. Her leadership extends to major research projects like the HdR on abhumanism at Université Jean Monnet Saint-Étienne.
