Assistant Professor Ivan Perković holds a PhD and is affiliated with the University of Zagreb's Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, Department of Forestry. His academic career includes roles as a senior assistant (2014–2018) and junior researcher (2008–2014). He has been a full-time faculty member since 2018. His research focuses on soil physical characteristics, laboratory analysis, and environmental applications, particularly in soil management and remediation of degraded lands. Courses taught include Soil Science (in both PU and ŠP curricula), Soil Management, and Remediation of Degraded Land.
Professional experience spans over 15 years at the University of Zagreb, alongside prior work at Hrvatske Šume d.o.o. (2007–2008). His scientific interests extend to interdisciplinary fields such as synthetic and medicinal chemistry, with notable contributions to antimalarial drug design and pharmacological compounds. He collaborates with institutes like the Institute of Ecology and Silviculture and participates in national and international symposia.
Publications emphasize innovative drug development (e.g., harmiquins, harmiprims) and environmental health studies. His work bridges soil science with biomedical applications, showcasing expertise in both natural resource management and pharmaceutical research.
