Ivan Nišavić is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory (University of Belgrade), specializing in Hellenistic philosophy with a focus on Epicureanism, while also contributing to philosophy of education, ethics, and epistemology. He earned his PhD in 2019 for a dissertation on Epicurus’ philosophical psychology.

His research explores the intersections of Epicurean thought with contemporary educational practices, including adult learning and the impact of liminal spaces on pedagogy. Recent work addresses pandemic-era educational challenges and the philosophical implications of urban environments.
Notable publications include the monograph Nature, Soul and Happiness: Fundamentals of Epicurean Ethics (2022) and articles analyzing sensory epistemology, post-COVID adult education, and urban spatial theory. Since 2023, he has served as editor-in-chief of Kritika: Journal for Philosophy and Social Theory and teaches Philosophy of Adult Education at the University of Belgrade’s Faculty of Philosophy.
