Ismo Dunderberg

Ismo Dunderberg is a Professor of New Testament Studies at the University of Helsinki's Faculty of Theology, affiliated with the Biblical Studies department. His career includes roles as Dean and Vice-Dean of the Faculty, as well as Academy of Finland Research Fellow (1995-2003, 2007-2008). He holds membership in the Finnish Academy of Science and Letters since 2011.

Education: PhD in Theology (1994, University of Helsinki); Visiting Professor at Yale Divinity School (2019). Extensive academic service includes supervising 11 PhD theses and leading major projects such as the Gnosticism and the Formation of Christianity (€200k funding) and the Centre of Excellence in Reason and Religious Recognition Research (2014-2019).
