Dr. Niclas Förster is a Private Lecturer at the Institutum Judaicum Delitzschianum, University of Münster, and concurrently serves as a University Pastor in Hanover. His academic trajectory includes theology and philosophy studies at Göttingen and Tübingen (1986–1993), a doctorate on Valentinian Gnosticism (1997, Göttingen), and postdoctoral research at Cambridge supported by a DAAD scholarship. He completed his habilitation at Münster in 2009, specializing in New Testament and Hellenistic Judaism.
His research explores intersections of ancient Judaism and early Christianity, with emphasis on:
- Flavius Josephus’ historiography and theology
- Prayer traditions across religious boundaries
- Gnostic movements and hermeneutics
- New Testament contextual studies
- Philo of Alexandria’s exegetical works
