Irwan Abdullah is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Anthropology at Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, specializing in Indonesian socio-economic dynamics and crisis impacts. Born in Aceh Utara, Indonesia in 1963, he holds a Ph.D. from the University of Amsterdam.
