Research Highlights: Dr. Stappen's work bridges pharmaceutical chemistry with human psychophysiology, examining how essential oil components affect biological systems. She has extensively studied GC-MS analyses of essential oils and their applications in cosmetics, aromatherapy, and pain management.
Recent Trends: Her publications focus on essential oil chemistry (Artemisia, Juniperus, Mentha species), antimicrobial properties, neurophysiological effects, and ecological interactions. Key areas include repellent activity against Aedes aegypti, sex-specific responses to odors, and analytical methodology improvements.
Teaching Portfolio: She instructs courses covering chemical pharmacopoeial analysis, clinical pharmacy, gender-specific pharmacokinetics, and pharmaceutical diagnostics. Current offerings include Orientation - Pharmacy (321000), Chemical Diagnostics - M11 (322018), and Selected Chapters of Pharmaceutical-Chemical Research - M13 (322026).
International Collaborations: Coordinates ERASMUS partnerships with universities in Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Dublin, Gent, Hradec Králové, Nantes, Padua, Perugia, and Siena.
