Irena Wyss is a Lecturer (MER 2) at the School of French as a Foreign Language at the University of Lausanne since 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Lausanne (2008), a Doctorate in French-language literature from the University of Montreal (2012), and a Diploma from HEP Vaud (2016). Her primary research interests include French language pedagogy, Francophone literature, and cultural studies focusing on North America, the Caribbean, and Africa.
She has co-edited the volume Seeing and Reading Contemporary Africa. Rethinking Identities and Cultural Belongings (Etudes de lettres journal, 2017) with Christine Le Quellec Cottier. Prior to her current role, she taught at Vaud secondary schools and held teaching positions at the University of Lausanne's French Section.
