Ion Craiovan

Ion Craiovan is a Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Political and Economic Studies Chisinau. He also holds the title of Honorary Researcher at the 'Acad. Andrei Rădulescu' Legal Research Institute of the Romanian Academy since 2012. His academic and professional roles include leadership positions in legal institutions, such as Honorary President of the Romanian Association for Philosophy of Law (2025), Director of the International Institute for Human Rights (2019-2020), and former Dean and Rector of the George Bariţiu University of Brasov.

Craiovan's research focuses on the philosophy of law, legal methodology, and general jurisprudence. His publications span legal philosophy, methodology, and jurisprudence, often integrating theoretical frameworks with practical legal reasoning. Notable themes include the role of rationality in law, the hermeneutics of legal interpretation, and the configuration of legal concepts like value and finality.
