Craiovan Ion

Prof. Ion Craiovan is a prominent legal scholar affiliated with the University of Brasov's Faculty of Law. He served as Rector (2008) and Dean (2005-2008) of the university, and held roles such as Honorary President of the Romanian Association for Philosophy of Law (2025) and Director of the International Institute for Human Rights (2019-2020). His academic rank is Professor in General Theory of Law.

He has been a Full Professor since 2000, supervising PhD candidates at 'Constantin Stere' University (2015-2021). His research focuses on Philosophy of Law, Legal Methodology, and General Jurisprudence, with significant contributions to legal education in Romania and Moldova. He has authored influential works like Treatise of General Jurisprudence (2015) and Philosophy of Law (2012).
