Ioan Fazey

Professor Ioan Fazey is a transdisciplinary researcher specializing in the social dimensions of environmental change, holding the title of Professor of Social Dimensions of Environment and Change at the University of York's Department of Environment & Geography. His work focuses on transformative change toward regenerative and sustainable futures through action-oriented research methods. He holds a BSc in Zoology (Aberdeen University), MSc in Ecology (University of Wales, Bangor), PhD in experiential knowledge (Australian National University), and teaching/counselling qualifications.

Research interests include vulnerability/resilience to environmental change, knowledge systems for sustainability, and methodologies for action-oriented research. He has directed the Centre for Environmental Change and Human Resilience at the University of Dundee (2013–2018).
