Inge Sorensen is a Senior Lecturer in Theatre, Film & Television Studies at the University of Glasgow. She holds a PhD from the University of Copenhagen and has extensive industry experience as an award-winning producer for BBC, National Geographic, and others. Her research focuses on screen industries, sustainability, interactive media, and academic video. She leads grants such as Sustainable Screen Scotland and The Thunberg Test, and is a member of UKRI's Peer Review Councils.
Education: MPhil (Media and Culture, University of Glasgow, 1998); PhD (Documentary in a Multiplatform Context, University of Copenhagen, 2013).
Research interests include screen funding models, public service media strategies, EDI policies, and new documentary forms like VR and interactive content. Her work bridges academia and industry, emphasizing practical policy implications.
Her recent articles explore topics such as sustainability in screen production, intimacy coordinators’ roles post-Weinstein, and multiplatform strategies. Awards include the 2014 Best Feature Award for Timelock and BAFTA nominations.
