Ines Ciolli serves as Associate Professor of Constitutional Law at Sapienza University of Rome's Department of Legal and Economic Studies within the Faculty of Law. She has held this position since October 10, 2015, following her role as Researcher in Constitutional Law from 2004-2015. Since November 2019, she has served as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law at Sapienza University. Her academic appointments include teaching Fundamental Rights in English, Public Law of Health, and Constitutional Law across multiple degree programs.
Her research focuses on constitutional law, public law, fundamental rights, gender studies, and health law. Ciolli has coordinated numerous research projects including 'When solidarity transforms into sustainability: transformations and manipulations of a legal category from post-pandemic to PNRR' (2022) and 'Health rights and state form' (2020). Her work examines constitutional responses to economic crises, parliamentary time, and the evolution of executive power.
Ciolli's awards include a mention from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers for her contribution to 'Costituenti ombra' (2010) and FFABR ANVUR Research Funding (2017). She has supervised multiple PhD candidates including Daniele Casanova, Valentina Ciaccio, and Isaac Kofi Medeiros, and serves on numerous doctoral committees. Her publications span constitutional theory, gender equality, healthcare law, and budget constitutionalism.

She has been invited to speak at institutions including the University of Toulon, Max Planck Institute in Heidelberg, and the French Senate. Her recent work critically examines Italy's constitutional reforms, particularly regarding the Prime Minister's role and environmental protections.
