Imam H Shaik is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. He holds a B.Pharm and M.Pharm from Kakatiya University, followed by a Ph.D. from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. His postdoctoral training included roles at Texas Tech and the University of Pittsburgh, followed by a position as a bioequivalence reviewer at the FDA before joining Pitt in 2022.
His research focuses on pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, and clinical pharmacology, particularly in transplant patients and pregnancy. Key areas include maternal-fetal drug pharmacology and xenotransplantation-related drug disposition. He has published nearly 25 research articles and serves as a reviewer for multiple journals.
Recent work includes studies on treprostinil’s role in hepatic protection during transplantation and vancomycin dosing optimization. His publications span xenotransplantation physiology, liver perfusion models, and PBPK modeling in pregnancy. He is affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy’s Graduate Program in Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences.
