Iina Ikonen is an Assistant Professor at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Economics and Business, specializing in Marketing within the Marketing — Management department. Her research focuses on retail marketing's impact on consumer well-being and societal issues, including healthier food consumption via packaging/pricing, inclusive shopping environments, and sustainability. She employs experimental designs and meta-analyses in her work.
Education includes a PhD in Marketing (2021, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) and an MSc in Marketing and Media Management (2015, Stockholm School of Economics). She also holds an external position as a Fractional Lecturer at the University of Bath.
Her research interests span consumer behavior, sustainable consumption, and inclusive retail practices. Notable publications include studies on online fashion retailing, nutrition labeling, and energy consumption behavior. She teaches Marketing to undergraduates and supervises BSc and MSc theses.
