Ibrahim T. Aldoss, M.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Hematology & Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation at City of Hope, specializing in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). He serves as co-director of the Hematology Tissue Bank and the Leukemia Registry, and is a principal investigator on multiple novel therapies for acute leukemias.
Dr. Aldoss received his medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology in Irbid, Jordan (2006), completed his internal medicine residency at Creighton University (2007-2010), and pursued a hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Southern California (2010-2013). He joined City of Hope as a bone marrow transplantation fellow in 2014 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020.
Dr. Aldoss's research focuses on optimizing treatment outcomes for younger adults with ALL, improving immunotherapies in ALL, understanding resistance mechanisms, identifying alternative targets beyond CD19, improving transplant outcomes in ALL, and elucidating the genetics and pathogenesis of ALL. His work spans targeted therapies, CAR T-cell treatments, and stem cell transplantation approaches, with emphasis on CD19-targeted immunotherapies and methods to overcome resistance.
His extensive 2023 publication record demonstrates a strong focus on immunotherapies for acute leukemias, particularly CAR T-cell therapies and strategies to address CD19-negative relapse. His research spans both ALL and AML, with emphasis on molecular markers, transplant outcomes, and novel therapeutic approaches including dual-targeted CAR T cells and tocilizumab for cytokine release syndrome management.
As a principal investigator, Dr. Aldoss leads multiple clinical trials investigating novel therapies for acute leukemias. His clinical practice is highly rated by patients, with consistently high scores in communication, respect, and time spent during appointments. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and presented his research at numerous international meetings.
Dr. Aldoss is an active member of the Gehr Family Center Leukemia and participates in multiple clinical teams including Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Hematology & Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation, and Leukemia Research teams at City of Hope, with practice locations in both Duarte and Irvine, California.
