Ibrahim El Shemy

Ibrahim El Shemy serves as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Information Security and Communication Technology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), concurrently pursuing his PhD while contributing as an MSCA Early-Stage Researcher to the EU-funded e-LADDA project.

His academic foundation includes:

• MSc in Computer Science and Engineering from Politecnico di Milano

El Shemy's research centers on developing augmented reality and mobile technologies to support language acquisition in autistic children, with particular focus on how digital interfaces like tablets and social robots influence early language development. His work within the e-LADDA project systematically examines technological interactions to identify design principles that optimize language learning outcomes for neurodiverse populations.

He actively contributes to NTNU's Language Acquisition and Language Processing Lab, which investigates cognitive language mechanisms and develops innovative technological interventions for communication disorders. The lab's interdisciplinary approach bridges computer science, psychology, and special education to create evidence-based digital learning tools.

Currently advising no students as he completes his doctoral studies, El Shemy's research is fully funded through the e-LADDA project under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions framework. This substantial EU grant supports his experimental work on human-technology interaction design while facilitating international collaboration across the project's multi-institutional consortium.
