Ian Roberts is a Lecturer in Sustainable and Ethical Banking at Bangor Business School, Bangor University. He is actively engaged in teaching, research, and supervision, with a focus on financial crime, ethics, and regulatory enforcement in financial services.

- PhD in Misconduct in Banking & Finance (Withdrawn), Bangor Business School (2017–ongoing)
His research interests center on understanding the causes of individual and organizational misconduct in UK financial services, using regulatory enforcement notices to identify patterns. His work aligns with ethical banking, financial regulation, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. He is particularly active in the areas of financial crime, ethics review, and student research supervision.
The recent publications and activities reflect a strong trend toward ethical decision-making in finance, regulatory analysis, and innovative teaching methods, including the integration of AI in coursework. His scholarly output spans datasets, academic presentations, and editorial contributions.
