Professor Barbara Casu Lukac serves as Professor of Banking and Finance and Director of the Centre for Banking Research at Bayes Business School, City St George's, University of London. She additionally holds the position of Deputy Dean (Faculty and Research) at Bayes, demonstrating her leadership in academic administration alongside her research endeavors.
Her academic credentials include a BSc in Economics from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, Italy, followed by an MA and PhD in Economics from Bangor University in the United Kingdom. She maintains prestigious fellowships with the International Research Centre on Cooperative Finance at HEC Montreal and the Centre for Responsible Banking & Finance at the University of St Andrews, reflecting her standing in the academic community.
Professor Casu's research focuses on empirical banking, financial regulation, structured finance, and corporate governance. With over 50 peer-reviewed publications and authorship of the widely adopted textbook "Introduction to Banking" (Pearson FT), she has made significant contributions to banking education and research.
