Dr. Ian Newhouse serves as Professor and Director of the Department of Kinesiology at Lakehead University, where he has held academic and leadership positions since September 1988. His career spans over three decades of dedicated service to exercise science education and research within the university's health sciences framework.
His academic qualifications include:
- PhD from the University of British Columbia (1987)
- MSc from the University of Alberta (1983)
- Bachelor of Physical Education (BPE) from the University of Alberta (1980)
Dr. Newhouse's research program demonstrates significant evolution from athletic performance studies to broad health applications:
