Kevin Boldt is an Assistant Professor in the School of Kinesiology at Western University, specializing in exercise physiology and biomechanics. His research program focuses on understanding how the body adapts to diet and exercise interventions, with particular emphasis on enhancing cardiovascular and muscular adaptation to improve health, fitness, and performance outcomes.
Dr. Boldt's research interests include understanding the mechanisms of adaptation to exercise, enhancing cardiovascular and muscular adaptation through diet and exercise interventions, and muscle and exercise mechanics. His work bridges basic science with clinical applications, examining how lifestyle factors affect various physiological systems under conditions including cancer, aging, obesity, and muscular weakness.
His research program has been recognized with over $580,000 in research funding and more than 45 national and international awards. Dr. Boldt's publications reveal strong expertise in cardiac muscle physiology, skeletal muscle mechanics, diet-exercise interactions, and biomechanical analysis of movement, with particular focus on how exercise interventions can protect against diet-induced physiological impairments.
Selected Awards:
