Dr Ian Locke is an Assistant Head of School (Research and Knowledge Exchange) at the University of Westminster's School of Life Sciences. He holds a Senior Lecturer position in Biomedical Sciences and leads research on connective tissue biology and tissue repair. Previously, he earned a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences and a PhD in protein biochemistry from the University of Portsmouth, followed by postdoctoral research at University College London (UCL) in rheumatology and gene expression.

Awards: Fellowships from the Institute of Biomedical Science (FIBMS) and Higher Education Academy (FHEA), alongside memberships in the British Society for Immunology and Biochemical Society.
He oversees research strategy and academic quality in the School of Life Sciences, balancing administrative leadership with hands-on research in sustainable biotechnology and regenerative medicine.
