Christoph Bauer

Christoph Bauer is a Research Fellow at the University for Continuing Education Krems, affiliated with the Center for Regenerative Medicine. His research focuses on regenerative medicine, biomaterials, and tribocorrosion in biomedical applications. Bauer leads several projects including 'Scalable production of biphasic tissue constructs for mosaicplasty of osteochondral defects' (2025-2028) and 'Tribology Intelligence - Customized Tribology for Industrial Innovations' (2024-2029). He has extensive experience in osteochondral grafts, hyaluronic acid therapies, and biotribological testing of biomaterials.

His work bridges tissue engineering, material science, and clinical applications, with key contributions to cartilage repair and metal implant performance. Bauer has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles, including studies on chondrocyte viability, tribocorrosion analysis, and drug delivery systems. He actively presents at conferences such as the OARSI World Congress on Osteoarthritis and the International Conference on Biotribology.

Current projects address scalable tissue engineering solutions and advanced tribology modeling for industrial applications. Bauer collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to develop novel biomaterials and surgical techniques for musculoskeletal regeneration.
