Ian Hurd is a Professor of Political Science and Director of the Weinberg College Center for International and Area Studies at Northwestern University. He holds a joint appointment in International Studies and Legal Studies.

His research focuses on international law and politics, with expertise in UN Security Council dynamics, global governance, and the intersection of law and power.
