Christina L. Davis is the Edwin O. Reischauer Professor of Japanese Politics in the Department of Government at Harvard University and Director of the Program on U.S.-Japan Relations. During the 2024-25 academic year, she will be on leave at Oxford University as the Centenary Visiting Professor in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.
- Education: AB in East Asian Studies (Harvard, 1993), Ph.D. in Political Science (Harvard, 2001)
Her research focuses on Japan’s politics and foreign policy, international organizations, and trade policy. She has authored influential books, including Why Adjudicate? Enforcing Trade Rules in the WTO (2012) and Discriminatory Clubs: The Geopolitics of International Organizations (2023). Her current work explores the evolving trade order and economic sanctions.
