Hugh Richards is a Lecturer in Sport & Exercise Psychology at the Moray House School of Education and Sport, affiliated with the Institute for Sport, Physical Education & Health Sciences (ISPEHS) at the University of Edinburgh. His work spans academia, applied performance psychology, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
Research interests include coping mechanisms, talent development, individual differences, and professional growth in sport, military, and music domains. He has partnered with organizations such as the FIA Institute Young Driver Excellence Academy, BBC Learning Zone, National Organ Retrieval Service, and Scottish Multi-Agency Resilience Training and Exercising Unit (SMARTEU). His applied work includes supporting elite athletes, motorsport performers, and healthcare teams.
