معرفی
Dr. Hua Gu is a Full Professor-Researcher at the Université de Montréal, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Immunology. He directs the Molecular Immunology Research Unit at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM) and holds cross-appointments at McGill University. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms governing T and B cell signaling, germinal center reactions, and cancer immunotherapy, with applications in autoimmune diseases and tumor treatment.
Research Interests: Dr. Gu's lab investigates intracellular signaling networks controlling immune cell functions, particularly ubiquitin ligases (Cbl proteins) in regulating T/B cell activation, germinal center dynamics, and lysosome biogenesis. His work aims to develop novel immunotherapies for cancers and autoimmune disorders like lupus. Key areas include:
- Modulation of TGF-β, CTLA-4, and PD-1 signaling pathways for cancer treatment.
- Role of microRNAs in hematopoietic stem cell self-renewal and leukemia.
- GPCR signaling in antitumor immunity.
Awards and Honors:
- André-Aisenstadt Excellence Chair
- Canada Research Chair in Molecular Immunology
- Fonds des Leaders Award, Canadian Foundation for Innovation
- Research featured in Nature Reviews Immunology and Nature Reviews Cancer (2007)
Training and Lab: Dr. Gu mentors doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, including current lab members Li Zhong, Mojtaba Mollaei, and Tara Laleh. His team employs CRISPR, RNA-seq, and biochemical approaches to dissect immune signaling pathways. The lab receives funding from CIHR, FRQS, and CFI.
