Hua Deng

Hua Deng is a Lecturer in the Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies & Statistics at The Australian National University. She holds a PhD and MCom in Finance from UNSW, along with a BA. Her research focuses on corporate finance, corporate governance, and their impacts on firm performance. Prior to academia, she worked as an equity analyst and in various business roles. She is the course convenor of the ANU Student Managed Fund, a hands-on investment course managing over $800,000 in ANU endowment funds.

Her research explores topics such as ownership structure, incentives, and restructuring, with her work published in the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. She is actively involved in supervising research students and contributes to academic discussions on corporate policies and firm value. Her expertise bridges academic theory with practical industry insights.
