Hope Alderson is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New Brunswick (UNB). She holds a PhD from the University of Western Ontario (UWO) and teaches at the Saint John campus in Ganong Hall 300A.
Her teaching interests focus on applied mathematics, differential equations, numerical methods, mathematical modelling, mechanics, and computational tools like Python and MATLAB.
Dr. Alderson has received significant recognition for her teaching excellence, including the Allan P. Stuart Award for Excellence in Teaching (2020-2021) and multiple Departmental Awards for Teaching Excellence (2017-2018, 2022-2023).
Her academic background includes a BSc from the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), followed by an MSc and PhD from UWO.
