Hongqing (Michelle) Guo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics, Development and Cell Biology at Iowa State University. Her research focuses on FERONIA-mediated signaling in Arabidopsis, exploring its roles in plant growth, stress responses, and hormone interactions. Dr. Guo’s work integrates omics data with molecular genetics to uncover novel mechanisms underlying plant biology.
Education:
- B.S., Biology, Beijing Normal University (1988)
- M.S., Plant Biology, Beijing Normal University (1991)
- Ph.D., Interdepartmental Genetics and Genomics, Iowa State University (2019)
Research Interests:
- FERONIA receptor kinase signaling
- Brassinosteroid and hormone crosstalk
- Autophagy regulation and stress adaptation
- Multi-omics data integration
Grants & Funding:
- NIH-funded research on FERONIA’s molecular mechanisms
Labs/Teams: Works in the Carver Co-Lab at Iowa State, collaborating with teams like those of Drs. Walley, Bassham, and Yin on integrated omics studies.
