Hong-Jai Park is an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Rheumatology at Yale School of Medicine, Yale University. His research focuses on immunological mechanisms underlying aging, vaccine responses, and immune-related diseases. He has contributed to studies on T cell biology, including CD4+/CD8+ T cell dynamics, cytokine signaling pathways, and immune checkpoint modulation in cancer immunotherapy.
Key research areas include:
- Age-associated immune changes and their impact on neurocognitive disorders like Alzheimer’s disease
- Mechanisms of vaccine efficacy, particularly for SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccines
- Role of IL-7 receptor signaling in T cell heterogeneity and aging
- Immunomodulatory effects of natural products like AHCC®
- Preclinical studies on immune checkpoint inhibitors in colorectal cancer
His collaborative work spans disciplines such as pulmonology, oncology, and virology, with frequent co-authors including Dr. Insoo Kang and Dr. Min Shin. Recent studies highlight contributions to understanding immune cell profiles in human milk, IL-1 receptor signaling in T cell development, and VISTA/PD-1H’s role in pulmonary fibrosis.
