Holly Wyatt

Holly Wyatt is a Professor in the Department of Nutrition Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Health Professions. She also serves as a Senior Scientist at the Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC). With over 20 years of clinical experience, her work focuses on obesity, weight management, and metabolic research. She co-founded The State of Slim, a long-term weight loss program, and served as medical director for ABC's Extreme Weight Loss.

Research Interests: Dr. Wyatt investigates strategies for sustainable weight loss through behavioral interventions, dietary approaches, and pharmacological/surgical options. Her work with the National Weight Control Registry examines long-term success in over 10,000 participants. Key areas include metabolic adaptation, physical activity optimization, and psychological factors influencing weight maintenance.
