Dr. James Hill is a Professor in the Department of Nutrition Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Health Professions. With over 40 years of research experience, he is globally recognized for his expertise in obesity, including its development, health consequences, and prevention strategies. His work includes founding the National Weight Control Registry and International Weight Control Registry, and he currently directs the UAB Nutrition Obesity Research Center.
His research spans precision nutrition, metabolic health, and behavioral interventions. Recent publications focus on adaptive lifestyle interventions, metabolic assessments, and long-term diabetes outcomes, reflecting his emphasis on practical, data-driven health solutions.
