Holger Spamann is the Lawrence R. Grove Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, specializing in corporate law, corporate finance, and the law and economics of financial markets. He teaches courses on corporate governance and has a research focus on judicial behavior, comparative law, and corporate finance structures. Prior to academia, he practiced law at Debevoise & Plimpton in New York and clerked in Europe. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and multiple advanced degrees from Harvard and other institutions. His work bridges legal theory with empirical analysis, particularly examining how legal frameworks influence investor protection and market dynamics. Notable contributions include studies on comparative legal systems and the operational mechanisms of judicial decision-making across jurisdictions.
