Hoang Anh Tuan

Professor Hoang Anh Tuan is a leading historian at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, where he serves as Rector (since 2021) and Head of the Department of Urban History (since 2014). With a PhD from Leiden University (2006), he specializes in pre-modern Vietnamese history, focusing on maritime trade, international relations with European East India Companies, and early modern globalization. His work bridges urban history and environmental history, analyzing socio-economic transformations through archival documents.
