Prof. Dr. Hinnerk Wißmann is a Professor of Public Law, Administrative Law, and Constitutional Law concerning Culture and Religion at the University of Münster. He leads the Freiherr-vom-Stein Institute and the Institute for Municipal Science. His research focuses on constitutional law, administrative law, and the legal framework of religion-state relations. He completed his habilitation (2008) and dissertation (2001) at the University of Augsburg. He has held professorships at the Universities of Bayreuth and Augsburg and served as an interim professor at Göttingen and Munich.

Wißmann teaches courses on administrative law, constitutional law, and religious education. Recent courses include study groups on administrative law and seminars on constitutional history.
