Hide Sadohara is an Associate Professor at the State University of New York at Fredonia, specializing in ceramics. A Japanese-born artist, he holds an M.F.A. from Kent State University and a B.F.A. in Sculpture and Metals from Memphis College of Art. His professional affiliations include former roles as Artist in Residence at The Clay Studio (Philadelphia) and faculty positions at Moore College of Art and Design and Alberta College of Art and Design.
His research explores utilitarian functional vessels and figurative sculpture installations, integrating techniques like throwing, hand-building, and glaze chemistry. Teaching interests span traditional ceramics, kiln technology, and art history.
