Hicham Ibrahim is a Professor of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center and holds administrative roles as Associate Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Ambulatory Services. He previously served as Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs in Psychiatry and Chief of Psychiatry at the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Education includes a medical degree from the American University of Beirut, psychiatry residency at the University of Michigan and UT Southwestern, research fellowships in Neuroscience (University of Michigan), clinical fellowships in Addiction and Geriatric Psychiatry (UT Southwestern), and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.
His research focuses on psychiatric diagnostics, depressive symptomatology measurement, schizophrenia neurobiology, and medical education. Notable contributions include work on the Quick Inventory of Depressive Symptomatology (QIDS) and exploration of glutamate receptor abnormalities in schizophrenia.
