Hesam’s research explores how digital and AI-enabled marketing systems influence consumer dynamics. He investigates topics such as customer entitlement, prosocial behaviors, and ethical responses to brand transgressions. His work often bridges political ideology with service interactions, examining how self-service technologies and moral grandstanding shape marketing outcomes.
The trends in Hesam’s research highlight the ethical and psychological dimensions of AI adoption in services, including self-service technology resistance, retail donation design, and AI-driven service captivity. These studies reflect his commitment to understanding technology’s dual role as both a facilitator and a source of consumer stress.
Hesam leverages his experience as a tech startup founder and digital marketing consultant to deliver hands-on, data-driven education. He presents regularly at conferences like the American Marketing Association (AMA), Association for Consumer Research (ACR), and Society for Consumer Psychology (SCP), with recent presentations in 2022–2025.
