Hervé Claustre

Hervé Claustre is a Research Director (Full Research Professor) at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), France, affiliated with the Villefranche Oceanography Laboratory (LOV) at Sorbonne Université. He has held this position since 2001, following roles as CNRS Research Scientist (1990-2000) and Visiting Scientist at the University of California, Santa Barbara (1995-1996).

His research focuses on optical oceanography, ocean color remote sensing, and autonomous ocean observation platforms, particularly BGC-Argo floats.
