Erik Hermann is an Affiliate Professor of Marketing at ESCP Business School in Berlin. He holds a PhD in Marketing and an LL.M. in European Business Law from the European University Viadrina. Prior to academia, he worked as Head of Marketing and Investor Relations at Deutsche Payment A1M SE, a consultant for digital solutions at Mazars, and a consultant for advertising policy at the German Advertising Federation.
His research focuses on consumer behavior, psychology, and the ethical implications of AI in marketing. Key areas include socio-technical issues of AI deployment, sustainable consumption, and the intersection of technology and ethical design. His work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Marketing and Journal of Business Ethics.
Recent publications (2023–2025) explore generative AI applications in marketing research, ethical frameworks for AI deployment, and the psychological impacts of AI on consumer behavior. He advocates for holistic approaches to scientific sustainability and inclusive AI applications for vulnerable groups.
