Heon Jeon is an Assistant Professor in Residence of English at the University of Connecticut (UConn), affiliated with the Department of English within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. His work focuses on Second Language Writing, particularly learning transfer in writing instruction and innovative feedback practices using technology like screencast video feedback. He has published in journals such as RELC Journal and Journal of Response to Writing, and regularly presents at conferences like the Symposium on Second Language Writing and AAAL.
Education: Ph.D. in Foreign, Second, and Multilingual Education (The Ohio State University, 2019), M.S.Ed. in TESOL (University of Pennsylvania, 2011), and prior degrees in English Linguistics and English Education from South Korean institutions. His dissertation explored teaching for transfer in undergraduate L2 academic writing courses.

Professional service includes roles in UConn's DEI initiatives, Aetna First-Year Writing Awards, and committees for writing curriculum development. He teaches First-Year Writing courses and has extensive experience in multilingual education at both college and K-12 levels.
