Henry Ma

Prof Henry Ma is Director of Neurology and Stroke at Monash Health and Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at Monash University, where he has held dual clinical and academic leadership roles since 2015. He previously served as Director of Physician Training at Monash Health and remains a senior member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) National Examiner Panel and Basic Training Committee, underscoring his commitment to medical education.

Prof Ma is a key advocate for amnion stem cell therapy in stroke and multiple sclerosis and leads the I-ACT trial. He also co-founded the Australasian Stroke Academy (ASA) to train future stroke specialists. His editorial roles further amplify his influence in the field.

He has played a central role in building the Department of Neurology into a multidisciplinary academic unit with strengths in epilepsy, movement disorders, neuroimmunology, neurodegenerative diseases, and neuro-oncology. His leadership in the Australian Stroke Trial Network enables broad dissemination of innovative therapies across Australasia, Europe, and Asia.
