Henry Kha

Dr Henry Kha is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), affiliated with the School of Private & Commercial Law. He holds a PhD from the University of Queensland and a Juris Doctor from UNSW. Previously, he served as Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University, Lecturer at the University of Auckland, and Tutor at the University of Queensland.

• Education: PhD (University of Queensland), JD (UNSW), B.A. (Advanced) (Honours) in Chinese Studies and History (University of Sydney), Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (College of Law).
• Affiliations: Vice-President of the Australian and New Zealand Law and History Society; Fellow of the Higher Education Academy; Academic Fellow of Warrane College UNSW.

His research focuses on family law from legal historical and contemporary perspectives, including divorce law reform, Indigenous children’s rights, and family property law. He has authored/co-authored multiple books and over 20 peer-reviewed articles. Notable works include A History of Divorce Law: Reform in England from the Victorian to Interwar Years (Routledge, 2021) and Teaching Family Law: Reflections on Pedagogy and Practice (Routledge, 2024).

His scholarly contributions span legal ethics, bioethical inquiry, and cross-jurisdictional comparisons of family law. He has contributed to projects supported by the Francis Forbes Society and is editing a forthcoming Routledge volume on Family Law and Religion: Global Perspectives.
