Simon Young

Simon Young is Professor of Law and Justice at the University of Southern Queensland and Adjunct Professor at UWA Law School, specializing in Indigenous law and administrative justice.

Education: Admitted Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland (1994).

Research Focus: Young's work centers on Native Title law, comparative Indigenous rights, and legal frameworks for water resource allocation. His recent scholarship examines constitutional dimensions of freshwater rights across Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, and reforms for incorporating Indigenous perspectives in legal education.

Teaching: He teaches administrative law, Indigenous policy, and constitutional law, receiving multiple teaching awards including the UWA Blackstone Society Teacher of the Year (2008, 2013).

Leadership: Deputy Director of UniSQ's Centre for Heritage and Culture, contributing to policy discussions on land rights and legal decolonization.
