Helmut Brade (born 1937) is a German artist and designer with a career spanning over six decades. He held a professorship for Communications Design at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle from 1994 until retiring in 2003. He also served as President of the Freie Akademie der Künste in Leipzig from 1999. His work spans painting, graphic design, stage design (notably for Peter Konwitschny’s productions), and interdisciplinary collaborations with institutions like the Hamburg State Opera.
