Irmtraud Ohme (1937–2002) was a Professor of Metal and Enamel Design at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle. She served as head of the Department of Metal/Enamel Design from 1981 and later led the Department of Plastik/Metall. Her career spanned over four decades, starting with studies in industrial design (1955–1960) and progressing through roles as an industrial designer, assistant, and eventually professor. She was a member of the VBK-DDR since 1973.

Her research focused on enamel art, metal design, and material experimentation. She participated in over 250 exhibitions globally, including key shows in Dessau, Halle, and international venues.
