Helle Sofie Wentzer is an Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology and Social Work, Aalborg University, and a Senior Researcher at VIVE – The Danish Center for Social Science Research (until 2024). She holds a PhD in Information Sciences from Aalborg University (2005) and a Cand. Mag. in Philosophy and Mass Communication from Aarhus University. Her research focuses on digitalized healthcare, emphasizing qualitative methods involving user participation and organizational learning to improve healthcare transformations.

Research interests include telemedicine, patient communication, ethical guidelines in home care, and cross-sectoral collaboration in healthcare. Notable grants include funding from the EU, Tryg Foundation, Velux Foundation, and Novo Nordisk Foundation for projects like 'Human Factors in Diagnostic Delay' and 'Video Consultation'.
Teaching spans bachelor’s to PhD levels, covering courses in qualitative methods, organizational sociology, and health informatics. She chairs PhD committees and has served on national medical science boards.
Labs/Teams: Member of the Organizational Sociology Research Group (OrgSoc) and co-initiator of the Danish Network in Cross-Sectoral Research.
