Helen Lindner is a Senior Lecturer in the Occupational Therapy program at Örebro University's School of Health Sciences, Department of Health Sciences. She holds a BSc in Pharmacology from University College London, a MSc in Medical Informatics from the University of London, and a BSc in Occupational Therapy from Örebro University. Her PhD in Medical Sciences (2013) focused on prosthetic outcome measures.
Her research centers on cognitive functions in multiply disabled individuals and learning processes with multifunctional prosthetic hands. She employs eye-tracking and motion analysis to study attention, cognitive load, and motor control. Collaborations include Kobe Gakuin University (Japan), Harvard Medical School (USA), and the University of Cambridge (UK).
Teaching responsibilities include leading a course on occupational therapy for cognitive/psychiatric/neurodevelopmental disorders and pharmacology for occupational therapy students. Clinically, she works with autism spectrum patients at Region Örebro County's Adult Habilitation Center.
Active projects include ACMC (Assessment of Capacity for Myoelectric Control), REDem (dementia care environments), and visuohaptic skills research. She co-leads the WellCET research group promoting wellbeing through technology and care environments.
